Iroko: Milica Excels

Iroko is an exotic type of three, originated from African region. Because of its hardness it’s not very easy to work with. Its products are mostly used for as decks for wet areas, indoor parquet, outdoor wall surface deck and decorative wooden products. İroko panels are used in furniture making, stairs, kitchen worktops and wooden shelf. Panels can be produced with finger jointed (FJ) or solid lamellas using D4 or D3 glue.

Pinus Brutia Ten

This kind of pine is grown in Turkey’s Aegean and Mediterranean region. It’s harder than Scots pine (Pinus sylvestris) that’s why it is suitable for indoor parquet, outdoor deck and wall surface deck. When it’s impregnated it can be used for a longer period of time (outdoor up to 60 years). It’s panels are produced with D3 & D4 glue. Pannels can be used in as stairs surface, indoor table top, surface of laminated wood beams.

Pinus Nigra

Anatolian Pinus Nigra is one of the most durable kinds of pine to low sunlight. It also an abstemious kind when it comes to soil it grows. Moist and slimy soil is best for this kind. Anatolian Pinus Nigra has a harder structure among most of its pine relatives and it’s also much more durable according to a soft wood. Because of its high quality its mostly used in making wooden windows, parquet, furniture and construction.

(Spruce) Picea

Spruce is a kind of softwood that is mostly used in laminated wood beam production for construction purposes. The popularity of this wood in laminated wood beam production is that is very light in weight. When it’s full coated with right materials it can used in outdoor. Its A quality panels are used in furniture making also. B and C quality panels are used for filling purposes when producing wooden doors. Its panels are produced with D3 & D4 glues.

(Sapele) Entandrophragma Cylindricum

Sapelli is a kind of exotic wood originated from Africa. It’s a kind of hard wood but not very hard so it’s easy to work with. Its products are mostly used in furniture making, parquet and decorative wood works. Its panels are used as kitchen worktops, table tops and shelves. These panels can be produced with both FJ (finger jointed) and solid lamellas.

Beech (Fagus)

It’s mostly used in furniture making. Steaming this wood is crucial before kiln drying process. The acidic substance inside this tree protects it when its live but when its cut the substance start to rot the tree, but steaming it get the substance out preventing the timber from rotting away. We are very careful with this issue and waste no time steaming after cutting the timber. Its products are not suitable for outdoor use. It accepts all kinds of coloring. It has a hard structure but easy to work with. Its products are mostly used in furniture making, parquet many more. Its panels are produced with both FJ (Finger jointed) and solid lamellas using D3 & D4 glue.

(Oak) Quercus

It grows in many parts of Turkey. Because of its hard structure and strength in outdoor use, its suitable for wooden windows & doors, furniture, parquet and many more. Its panels can be produced with FJ (finger jointed) or solid lamellas with D3 and D4 glue. Panels are mostly used in stair tops, kitchen worktops and table tops.

Ayos (Ayous)

Batı Afrika, Kamerun, Gana, Gabon, Kongo gibi ülkelerde yetişen Ayous ağacı, diğer Afrika menşeili ağaçların arasında en kolay işlenme potansiyeline sahip ağaç türüdür, kolay şekil alır. Tomrukken kesildiği ilk halinde beyaz renkte olsa da hava ile temasa geçtikten sonra zamanla sarı tonlarına döner. Yumuşak dokulu bir ağaç olmasından dolayı daha çok mobilya ve enstrüman yapımında kullanıldığı görülür. Özellikle masif parke olarak değerlendirildiğinde yumuşak dokusu sayesinde zemine oldukça kuvvetli yapışır. Sauna kerestesi olarak en çok kullanılan türdür.

Sipo

Egzotik bir ağaç türü olan Sipo genellikle Afrika kıtası çıkışlıdır. Yarı sert bir yapıya sahip olması nedeni ile işlemesi kolay bir ağaç olarak bilinir. Kerestesi mobilya yapımında , gemi dış sarmalarında , parke yapımında ve dekoratif maksatlı ahşap uygulamalarında sıkça kullanılmaktadır. Tüm egzotik ağaç türlerinde olduğu gibi içerisinde barındırdığı, cam üretiminde de kullanılan Silisyum maddesi nedeni ile yüksek dayanıklılığa sahiptir..

Teak

Su , yağ ve solvent bazlı ahşap koruyucular yardımı ile dış cephe uygulamalarında rahatlıkla uzun seneler kullanılabildiği gibi yatlarda herhangi bir koruyucu olmaksızın sadece fırçalanarak da kullanılmaktadır.. Uygulama ve kullanım maksadı bakımından derzli, mastikli, düz pahlı ve kaymaz gibi birkaç farklı profil modeli mevcuttur.

Timber

That we see around us it is called the timber wood, that is processed and prepared for use in construction of a lot of wood furnishing. .

Cropping, drying, last processes: Chopped trees goes to whipsaw workshops with various ways. They chopped in standart measures. But size remains a little bigger because of timber will dry. Timbers get dried as air can flows in it. Tİmber chopped with round saw, strip saw or multiple knife saw. Drying period can be few weeks to a year that according to timber’s type, thickness and weather conditions.

Drying process can be done in ovens. In ovens, hot air flows between timbers. Heat and moisture always checked while this process. Thus, moisture can lower to %12 in 72 hours. Dried timbers applies to last process according to usage area. Thick wood timbers usually sold before the last process. Soft wood timbers passes in plane process. Special timbers which wants to be protected from the threats like fire, insects, applies other different processes. Chemical materials uses for this.
